Three

'Three' is about three drummers, who will play three trios and three solos pieces, and in doing so base themselves on the most basis tripartition division of percussion instruments in terms of types of materials; wood, iron and skin (drums). For these three groups of instruments a trio is selected, and each trio is mirrored in a solo that reflects the possibilities offered by the materials. This creates an interesting tension between the tight trio play and the virtuoso freedom that every player as a soloist has in this program.
